Team and roles

You can invite other people to a project. Each person gets a role, so they can help without seeing or changing more than they should.

Invite someone

Open Settings, then Team, and choose Invite.

Enter their email address and pick at least one project. You can give them a different role on each project.

They receive an invitation email. After accepting, the project appears in their Projects list.

Roles

Viewer

Can open the project, browse pages, and read comments. Can leave comments and reply.

Cannot edit content, publish, or change settings.

Editor

Can edit pages, components, collections, and CMS items. Can use Remy.

Cannot publish, manage settings, invite people, or change billing.

Admin

Can do everything an editor can, plus publish, manage project settings, invite people, and change roles.

Cannot delete the project or transfer ownership.

Owner

The person who pays for the project. Can do everything an admin can, plus change hosting, delete the project, and transfer ownership.

A project has exactly one owner.

Working together

When more than one person has the same page open, you see their cursor and selection in the editor. This makes it easier to avoid editing over each other.

Comments

Every role can comment, including viewers. Comments are feedback, not editing, so a reviewer can leave notes without being able to change the page.

Read Comments for the workflow.

Collaboration billing

Collaboration has a 14-day free trial. After that, you pay per person, and each member is billed as they join.

The owner pays. Viewers, editors, and admins all count as team members.

If you remove someone, they lose access right away. You can invite them again later.

Transfer ownership

An owner can hand the project to another member. The new person becomes the owner, and the old owner becomes an admin.

This is useful when a client takes over a site, or when a colleague becomes responsible for the account.

Roles are per project

A person can be an editor on one project and a viewer on another. This makes it possible to bring in a copywriter for one site without giving them access to everything.

A simple starting recipe

  1. Invite the client as a viewer.

  2. Ask them to comment on the pages instead of sending screenshots.

  3. Resolve the comments as you make changes.

  4. Invite a teammate as an editor.

  5. Keep publishing and billing with the owner or an admin.

Read Billing and plans for seat pricing.
