Images do a lot of work on a page. They set the mood, show products, and break up long text. Remake keeps every uploaded image in a media library so you can reuse it.

Add an Image block, then choose an image from the media library or upload a new one.
You can upload:
PNG
JPEG
WebP
GIF
SVG
AVIF
The file limit is 20 MB. Very large originals are usually unnecessary. A photo that looks sharp at 1600 pixels wide is enough for most pages.
The media library holds every image in the project. Use the search field to find one by name, then select it.
Reusing an image does not create a copy. If you replace the image in one place, only that block changes; the library keeps the original file.
Alt text describes an image for people who cannot see it. Screen readers read it aloud, and it appears if the image fails to load.
Write what the image shows and why it matters:
Good: "A potter shaping a bowl on a wheel."
Less useful: "Image."
Good for a product: "Blue ceramic mug with a speckled glaze."
Decorative image: leave alt text empty.
Do not start with "Image of". A screen reader already announces that it is an image.
Images keep their proportions by default, so they do not stretch. Use the Box tab to set the width, and use the crop or replace controls in the Image tab when you need a different shape.
If an image is too tall on mobile, give it a maximum height or place it in a column that stacks. Avoid fixed heights that cut off important parts of the picture.
An image can link to a page, a URL, an email address, or a phone number. Select the image and open Action to set the link.
Linked images are common for logos, product photos, and gallery items. Make sure the link is obvious enough that visitors know they can click it.
A Background image block places an image behind other content. Use it for a hero section, a quote over a photo, or a full-width banner.
Text over a photo needs contrast. A dark overlay or a solid panel behind the text is usually more reliable than a text shadow.
An image field in a collection lets you pick an image for each item. In a repeater or on an item page, the image comes from the current item.
This is how you build a portfolio, a product list, or a team page without editing every card by hand.
Read Collection fields for the image field options.
Remake serves images at several sizes, so a phone does not download a desktop-sized file. You still need to start with a reasonable original.
A few habits that help:
Export photos at the size they will appear, not at camera resolution.
Use WebP or AVIF when you can. They are smaller than JPEG at similar quality.
Do not upload a 4000 pixel image for a 300 pixel card.
Compress screenshots before uploading them.
For a hero image:
Add a section.
Add a background image or a large image block.
Add a heading and a short paragraph on top.
Add a dark overlay if the text is hard to read.
Check the image on mobile, especially the part that gets cropped.
For a gallery:
Create a collection with an image field.
Turn on collection pages.
Add a repeater to the list page.
Put an image inside the repeater and bind it to the image field.
Read Repeaters for the last step.
